What Is God Like Concerning Sin

You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

“For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer. § I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. § The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Isa. 38:17;  Mic. 7:18,19;  Isa. 54:7,8;  Jer. 31:34;  Ps. 32:1,2;  1 John 1:7

Bible verses: Isaiah 38:17 Micah 7:18 Micah 7:19 Isaiah 54:7 Isaiah 54:8 Jeremiah 31:34 Psalm 32:1 Psalm 32:2 1 John 1:7

This is a hard things for people deep in sin to grasp. Why? Because God is not like us. He does not hold sin against us when confessed and given to Him to hide. That is NOT license to keep on sinning in that manner but most of us have besetting sins that plague us daily. These are lesser sins usually that keep us from fully enjoying our fellowship with the Lord. The fact that we cannot forgive ourselves is another reason why we can't seem to forgive our besetting sins. Hang on to your forgiveness of yourselves. Don't let the world or the enemy of our souls convince you that you cannot be forgiven.

See you next blog,

Ted
